The Post-It Note

*Note: This video deals with the very serious topic of suicide and self-harm.  Discretion is advised.

Objective: Students will reflect on their own school climate/culture and brainstorm ways to improve it.

Procedures:

1. Watch the Post-It Note video.
2. This story is 100% true.  Take some time and talk about it as a group.  What was impactful for you?  
3. Chris said that in order to make big, important things happen, you have to have 3 things.  What were they?  (Heart, Plan, Action)
4. Discuss the term “ripple effect.”  What are some things you can do on a daily basis to have a ripple effect in your school?
5. Does your school have any sort of club or organization that has a goal of making campus a better place for everyone?  Do they follow the “Heart, Plan, Action” model?
6. Do you always need a large majority of people to be involved to make something big happen?  
7. Brainstorm some specific ways your class/group can plan and take action to make your school a better place.
